In order to be included in the official Ranking for an individual test, a competitor's achievement must be verified at least twice during the 10 tries. Only verifying that a record was obtained once, however, will still add the corresponding points for that record to the competitor's total accumulated points. Competitors may not be included in the Ranking for records obtained during the final try in any given test.
As an exception to the above, should a competitor break a World Record, said competitor must immediately demonstrate his ability to memorize the same number of digits in order to confirm this record. In this sense, it will only be considered a world record if the competitor can repeat this feat in the extra try or, as in the case of confirming records to be included in the ranking, during one of said competitor's remaining tries.
World Championships
World Championships will be held every other year, coinciding with years containing uneven numbers. The fastest memorizers in the world may participate in World Championships following classification.
Finals for all categories except the Open category will be held on Saturday morning. Semi-finals for the Open category will be held on Saturday afternoon and will determine which aspiring competitor will go on to the final round.
Sunday morning and afternoon: Finals. The aspiring competitor will challenge the World Champion. Finals will include two rounds of competition, meaning that two full championship rounds will be held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The sum of points obtained by each opponent will determine the final classification: World Champion and World Sub-Champion.
