The World Speed Memory Championships were held from July 24-25, 2009 in Munich, Germany. This competition is the most important speed memory event in the world. Bear in mind that the Speed Memory World Championship is currently held once every two years.

After a preliminary selection, the semi-finals were held on July 24th, with the presence the fastest memorizers in the world. Once again, these competitors were all students of the amazing school of memorization directed by Ramón Campayo. Chus García was the clear winner of the semi-finals. Chus was and is the runner-up in the Speed Memory Championships.
In the finals, which were held of July 25th, Ramón Campayo was also clearly declared World Champion and Recordman, despite the fact that he received no points for one of the six tests.

To date Ramón remains the undefeated champion, and has set more than 100 world records since 2003! Without a doubt, he is the fastest reader-memorizer in history!

FINAL
GRAND FINAL
The following is a list a just a few of the extraordinary memorization feats performed by Ramón Campayo during this year's World Championships: 20 digits in one second, which was one second faster his previous world record; 48 binary numbers in one second, two seconds faster than his previous world record; 88 binary numbers in four seconds, eight digits more than his world record. He also shattered his previous world records in the two tests involving the memorization of colors and matrixes.

Many thanks to the Maria Theresia School in Munich, and a special thanks to Director Dietrich Schairer for his help making these World Speed Memory Championships possible. Thanks to all of the participants and judges for doing such a great job.

Ramón Campayo Renews his Title as World Champion!
